Seen the new paving treatment by Loyola's burgeoning Lakeshore Campus up on the north side?
    Not the above, that's a little thing Michelangelo did in Rome.
    It still inspires. But at Loyola in Chicago, the design is placed in a very busy intersection, on Sheridan Road, to make motorists realize that students are crossing there. I love it. I find it attractive, and I believe cities should be better designed for pedestrians. This design in the pavement is already making the students more assertive about crossing when they want to, realizing pedestrians have rights too. Careful everybody!Source URL:
