Warhol and Mies - Silver Clouds float in Crown Hall

The Mies van der Rohe Society has filled Crown Hall with 1000 of Andy Warhol's Silver Clouds.
The largest installation of them ever; don't miss it.

    June 1 through August 1, 2010
    Wednesdays – Sundays
    10 am to 4 pm
    S. R. Crown Hall
$5 admission, children age 10 and younger admitted free

Mies's works often float above the earth
    The Silver Clouds reinforce that.

From the outside they seem to swim
making Crown Hall more than ever an aquarium.

Matte Crown Hall tends to contain light
    These shiny objects reflect light.

And move. In organic lines and patterns.
    Inside Mies's prescribed boundaries.

Showing that it's a space for freedom.

Anything from a concert by Duke Ellington to dance to school
    is uplifted.
