President Barack Obama at tonight's Pritzker Architecture Prize ceremony in Washington D.C. at the Mellon Auditorium.
He started by saying, "My interest in architecture goes way back.
There was a time when I thought I could be an architect."
Before the award was presented to the 2011 laureate,
the Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura,
Mr. Obama said a few words about architecture
and in particular about Chicago architecture.
